Andreea Traicu (Editor-in-Chief, Adevărul): "We are very interested in Influencer Marketing"
The truth is that Adevărul tried affiliate marketing before, at a time when there simply wasn't anyone to partner with. Back then, the platforms, the options, and the trust were all missing.
Today, none of those elements are missing anymore, and sales can be generated without simply pouring money into ads and hoping for the best. Since 2010, we have generated over 15.2 million sales worth more than €800 million. And around 4.2 million of those sales, worth €250 million, were generated in the last 2 years alone.
So yes, this is an ideal moment for any publishing player to approach affiliate marketing the way it has long been viewed in the West: as a steady, healthy revenue stream.
We spoke with Andreea Traicu (Editor-in-Chief at Adevărul), who, together with her team, had a strong Black Friday on the platform.
To maintain a high-quality journalistic product, we need to diversify our avenues for financial growth

How did you decide to get into affiliate marketing?
It was an idea that Adevărul tried to implement several years ago, but without success, because intermediary platforms didn't exist at the time and collaborations of this kind were quite cumbersome. We decided to revisit it after observing that the media market is going through a remodeling phase. Our starting premise was that in order to maintain a high-quality journalistic product, we must diversify our avenues for financial growth.
A strong Black Friday in BusinessLeague
For now, we are in a testing phase, looking for the best approach for the client and, especially, for those who purchase various products through us. We were pleased with our progress, especially given the fairly short timeframe. Credit for this goes to my colleagues, who adapted quickly to the requirements and managed to put the project into practice. It is important to us that readers trust what we present to them, and this is the area we want to build on in the future.
What does a successful store–affiliate collaboration mean to you?
It means effective communication with partners and maintaining the trust of our readers. We want to build a product where readers can research effectively and make an informed decision.
BusinessLeague in a single sentence?
An easy-to-use platform, excellent store–affiliate communication, and an impressive statistics section.
What did you sell the most on Black Friday, and with which stores?
We had the most sales with the stores otter.ro and aronia-charlottenburg.ro—namely footwear and natural health products.
Challenges in BusinessLeague
As soon as we move past the testing period and gain more experience, we will definitely look to participate in Challenges as well.
Influencer Marketing in BusinessLeague
We are very interested in the Influencer Marketing side. We live in an era where social media takes up more and more of people's lives, and if we can bring added value both to our users and to our partners on the platform, why not?
