București and Dublin: Two meetups, two full-house bars

București and Dublin: Two meetups, two full-house bars

Autumn is when we count our meet-ups: one, two.

So, we hosted two offline meet-ups, but that's not the news. The news is that we hosted them on the same day, at the same time, in two different cities: Bucharest and Dublin.

So the BusinessLeague team split in half like a ripe avocado, and we made sure both communities got to:

a) have fun
b) drink
c) socialize

We invited everyone, like we always do, but many of you were on holiday. We forgave you and stayed up chatting with everyone else until well past midnight.

The big stake was the beer count. It was a fierce contest between Romanians and the Irish, and we're happy to have settled the beer question once and for all: the Irish have good PR, but Romanians have good livers. The final score was 153 to who-even-cares-anymore. They asked us not to tell anyone, but we're not that kind of winners.

How it went down in Bucharest

We gathered from 6 PM at one of Bucharest's pubs with a long history: St. Patrick's. It's a place where the music is loud enough to make you feel young, but quiet enough for merchants and affiliates to actually hear each other. So groups formed quickly and kept shifting throughout the 6+ hours the meet-up lasted.

How it went down in Dublin

For our first event in Ireland, it was a great experience. Our Country Manager there, Manus Ó Dálaigh, made sure everything went perfectly at The Wild Duck.

A few people from Google Ireland came by and showed interest in joint projects. Good news. A gentleman from Temu also showed up. We generously tolerated him, though we didn’t let him leave flyers on the table 😶

Before the event, we were happy to offer two invitations to two players from the BusinessLeague ecosystem. On the affiliate side, Răzvan Mihăescu came (Klikads / Unicorn in the competition). On the merchant side, Drago Draganov came (Ozone.bg / Company in the competition).

We’re already planning the next events. We haven’t decided how just yet, but we know one thing: offline, with a beer in front of you, changes things for the better.

Oh, and speaking of offline, on Tuesday the 22nd we’re meeting online at Community Tuesday, a laid-back chat about Electronics & IT&C (and more).

You can sign up for the event here.
