### In June, we reached the milestone of the first million sales in BusinessLeague. Until the second one comes along, we thought we'd chat a bit about the first.

Many people have contributed (and always contribute) to the numbers of the world's only (affiliate) marketing competition. But a few stand out. A few master unicorns who don't need much introduction or description. Both from the stores' camp and the marketers' camp.

The first among them (both in BusinessLeague and in our series of articles called "People of the Million") is **Ovidiu Golea** (BigConvert). We caught him on vacation, yet he still spoke with us about business, numbers, and plans.

The full conversation with him is below. And if you want to read about how we reached this first million sales, you can find an in-depth article with numbers and insights [on Dorin's blog](https://www.dorinboerescu.ro/ce-am-invatat-din-primul-milion-de-vanzari-din-2025-1342?ref=blog.businessleague.com).

**2025 so far. January goals vs. summer reality. Are you on track?**

> Somewhat—I am not at the traffic level I anticipated, and current costs are higher than I expected; although I factored in an increase, it seems I was too optimistic.

**What pleasantly/unpleasantly surprised you in the first half of the year (if anything)?**

> Pleasantly: the openness of new stores, and even those with a track record in 2P, toward closer collaboration, which somewhat shows that there are difficulties almost everywhere.

**A KPI/statistic you are particularly proud of in the first 6–7 months of the year?**

> AOV has increased considerably, though we also actively pushed in that direction.

**The merchant you collaborated best with. Why?**

> The teams at Litera/Elefant are very focused on our area and send us information well in advance about new offers that are about to be launched.

**How do you feel your work in BusinessLeague has evolved lately? What about the competition itself?**

> There seems to be a synchronized rhythm, and we are all moving on the chart in the same direction, both up and down.

**If you were to change/improve one single thing about the platform, what would it be?**

> I would also make the advertiser's Google Shopping feed mandatory, for easier management of inventory and updated prices.

**What expectations do you have for the rest of the year? Any concrete plans?**

> I think that after August 15 the market will relax after all the panic caused in the first half by the prolonged elections and now by fiscal changes and new taxes.
