We are used to looking toward the great champions to applaud performance, but the process of becoming one is just as important.* **Beginnings in affiliate marketing** I first found out about affiliate marketing in December 2018, when I came across a few online articles that sparked my curiosity. It seemed incredible to me: being able to earn money by promoting other people's products—sounds like a dream, right? I didn't overthink it. I took Dorin Boerescu's course on Udemy and started putting things into motion. At the beginning of 2024, I enrolled in Dragoș Bunea's affiliate course at Școala de Afiliere (scoaladeafiliere.ro), an excellent decision for my development as an affiliate. I started seeing my first commissions, but I felt there was still a long way to go before reaching what I truly wanted: hundreds of conversions, day after day. Toward the end of 2024, I took the decisive step—I joined Lucian Ionescu's mentorship program. Personally, that decision took me right where I wanted to get in affiliate marketing. Here I feel I must say a huge THANK YOU to Lucian—it mattered enormously! **Welcome to BusinessLeague!** I had known about BusinessLeague for some time, but honestly… the beginning was a failure. I was in the Freelancers category and somewhere near the bottom of the leaderboard. But every beginning has its lessons, and those pushed me to become better. BusinessLeague is the coolest competition in affiliate marketing—without a doubt! **Your journey so far** It has been a road with ups and downs, but every step was worth it. There were moments when I thought about quitting, but I had the strength to keep going—and I am tremendously glad about that. And conversely: what do you think stores want primarily from affiliates?** Affiliates value communication, transparency, and honesty the most. On the other side, stores want performance—and that is natural. But performance doesn't come without help and without constant, effective communication between both sides. **Challenges in BusinessLeague** The Challenges give you that feeling that you are "in the game" and that you are good. It is important to learn SEO (Dragoș's courses are excellent), PPC, and definitely take part in a mentorship program with Lucian. I would describe an affiliate's ideal path in three steps: SEO → PPC → mentorship. That is how I grew too. **What's next?** My ambitions are big—I always set high goals for myself, that is what keeps me motivated. I have a huge passion for affiliate marketing and I have no intention of stopping anytime soon. And for my fellow affiliates I have a simple message: don't give up, no matter what.
